With recent reports that Aston Villa have had a bid accepted for the Senegalese winger, many fans may be wondering what he could bring to the club, this is the answer to their question.

Born in Saint-Louis, Senegal, the 24-year-old impressed heavily in his debut campaign for Metz, commanding a fee of up to 20 million euros for his services by Rennes. After two good years for the Bretonic club, Watford aquired his services for around £30 million in 2019. Since then, he’s made 95 appearances for Watford, scoring 25 times including two memorable goals against Liverpool to deny an invincible campaign.

Fast and tricky, Sarr has been highly regarded in England, and many are surprised he has yet to leave Watford despite two relegations in three seasons. Sarr is also highly regarded in Senegal too, where he has made 47 appearances for his country, scoring 10 times. Sarr started in the final as Senegal won the 2021(2) African Cup of Nations for the first time, scoring when Senegal bet Equatorial Guinea in the Quarter Final.

A very exciting player, will Ismaïla Sarr turn around Aston Villa’s fortunes? And will he be worth the 25 million euro price tag?
