28-year-old France international Lucas Digne has joined Aston Villa on a permanent transfer
Everton left back has signed for Aston Villa on a permanent deal seeing him in clarent and blue for the foreseeable future.
Digne joined Everton in August 2018, from Barcelona for an initial fee of £18 million. He made 125 appearances in blue before a falling out with Rafa Benitez saw Everton allow him to leave on a transfer this January. The experienced left back has played 43 times for France, and was part of the squad that won the 2021 Nations League final.
He has a fairly large trophy cabinet, being a 2x Ligue 1 and 1x La Liga winner and has won 13 senior trophies for club and country.
He joins Aston Villa for a fee of around £25 Million, and is assumed to become the starting left back for Steven Gerrard’s men as they push forward to fight for a spot in Europe for 2022/23.
